The brands involved were Fresh Kampo and H-E-B. Strawberries May 2022 Do not eat serve or sell FreshKampo or HEB brand organic strawberries purchased between March 5 2022 and April 25 2022.

1 day agoConsumers are being urged by the FDA to throw away any strawberries that were bought from both brands between March 5 and April 25 Aldi Kroger Safeway Trader Joes Walmart and others also sold. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating an outbreak of hepatitis A that is possibly linked to two brands of organic strawberries that were sold at several retailers in the US. Symptoms appear between 15 and 50 days after infection and can include yellow eyes or skin abdominal pain or pale stools.

Epidemiologic and traceback evidence indicate frozen strawberries imported from Egypt were the likely source of this outbreak. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A total of 17 cases were reported in the US.
